AITO M5

The AITO M5 is a mid-size crossover sold on the Chinese domestic market. It exists in two energy formats, fully electric and series hybrid, and in both of them the wheels are turned by electric motors.

Two drive layouts are offered: rear-wheel drive with a rear-mounted motor, and all-wheel drive with two electric motors. Output across the range goes from 200 to 365 kW, roughly 272 to 496 hp. No multi-speed gearbox is used anywhere in the series, only a single-speed reducer.

Hybrid versions carry a 1,499 cc combustion engine of about 1.5 litres, meeting the China 6 standard. Batteries measure from 40 to 83 kWh, and quoted range is 230 to 620 km.

Depending on version the body is 4,770 to 4,785 mm long, 1,930 mm wide and either 1,620 or 1,625 mm tall, on a 2,880 mm wheelbase. Seating is for 5 only.

The factory price list holds 19 versions between 229,800 and 331,800 yuan. The series has been in production since 2022, all 19 versions stand above the 58.84 kW threshold, and 18,181 cars were sold in China over 12 months.
