Aion AION V

The AION V is a compact crossover that GAC Aion has been building for the Chinese market since 2020. In powertrain terms the series is a mixed one: fully electric versions sit alongside plug-in hybrids, and both branches share a single price list.

The price list is unusually long at 104 versions, and output varies accordingly, from 74 to 200 kW, roughly 101 to 272 hp. Only one version falls below the threshold, while the remaining 103 are above it.

Hybrid versions use a 1,498 cc combustion engine of about 1.5 litres, certified to China 6. The electric side works through a single-speed reducer and turns the front wheels. Battery capacity spans 52.4 to 95.8 kWh, and quoted range is given as 400 to 750 km.

The body has existed in several sizes over the years: length from 4,580 to 4,650 mm, width from 1,854 to 1,920 mm, height from 1,639 to 1,728 mm and wheelbase from 2,775 to 2,830 mm. Cabins are offered with 5 or with 7 seats.

Factory prices run from 109,800 to 269,800 yuan, and Chinese sales over 12 months came to 27,499 cars. Both figures cover the electric and the plug-in hybrid branches together, because the two are catalogued as one series.
